When Should My Child Visit The Dentist For The First Time?

Powers Dental Group recommends your child visit the dentist by his/her 2nd birthday. To make your child’s first visit to the dentist enjoyable and pleasant, inform your child about the visit and keep comments about the dentist to a minimum. Our staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as needle, pull, drill or hurt. Our office makes a practice of using words that are descriptive, but are pleasant and not frightening to the child.
